Strands Skylord EXP LED Warning Light Bar 1800 mm - R65 Class 2 with 24 Warning Patterns and Bluetooth Control
Strands Skylord EXP LED Warning Light Bar 1800 mm is an extra-wide, low-profile and technically advanced LED warning light bar for professional vehicles where maximum visibility and reliable warning performance are essential. With 24 different warning patterns, separate day and night modes, Cruise Mode and ECE R65 Class 2 approval, it provides a complete warning light solution for trucks, larger service vehicles, recovery vehicles, road maintenance vehicles, transport vehicles and work machinery.
This version measures a full 1800 mm in length and is developed for larger and wider vehicles where a substantial warning surface across the roof provides both better proportions and excellent visual presence. The amber LED segments are distributed across a large part of the vehicle width, making the bar easier to notice from several directions.
Skylord EXP is also much more than a conventional warning light bar. It is part of the Strands SKYN1 EXP system and communicates wirelessly via Bluetooth with the SKYN1 EXP controller inside the vehicle. On/off, warning patterns, steady light and day/night mode can therefore be controlled directly from the driver's position without conventional separate control wiring between the light bar and control panel.
E-Approved According to ECE R65 Class 2
Skylord EXP Warning Light Bar 1800 mm is E-approved according to ECE R65 Class 2 and developed for professional warning lighting.
R65 Class 2 means the warning light features separate output levels for daytime and night-time use. In bright daylight, a higher output level is used so the warning signal remains clearly visible even in bright surroundings. At night, a lower level can be used to maintain an effective and clear warning signal without unnecessarily intense light.
This makes the bar particularly suitable for professional vehicles used around the clock where lighting conditions can change significantly during a working shift.
24 Different Warning Patterns
Skylord EXP offers no fewer than 24 different warning patterns. This provides extensive possibilities for adapting the warning signal to the vehicle, working environment and application.
Available patterns include:
- Single Flash
- Double Flash
- Quad Flash
- Steady
- Fast Flash
- Random Flash
- Dynamic Flash
- SOS
- Alternating Single Flash
- Alternating Double Flash
- Alternating Quad Flash
- Alternating Fast Flash
- Multi-segment Sync & Async Flashing 1
- Multi-segment Sync & Async Flashing 2
- Clockwise Sequential
- Counter-clockwise Sequential
- Chase Left to Right
- Chase Right to Left
- Centre-out Sequential
- Edge-to-centre Sequential
- Clockwise Sequential + Steady
- Counter-clockwise Sequential + Steady
- Breath
- Centre-out Sequential + Strobe
The wide selection makes the bar flexible for applications ranging from roadside assistance and recovery to service, road maintenance, transport and construction work.
48 Possible Modes with Day and Night Function
The 24 warning patterns can be combined with separate day and night modes. This provides up to 48 different warning modes.
The driver can switch between day and night directly from the SKYN1 EXP controller without making any physical adjustment to the light bar itself.
This is particularly useful on service and work vehicles operating during long shifts where lighting conditions change from bright daylight to darkness.
Cruise Mode and Steady Light
In addition to the various flashing sequences, Skylord EXP also features Cruise Mode and a steady-light function.
Steady light can be activated directly from the SKYN1 EXP controller, providing additional flexibility for different work situations and applications.
The functions and lighting modes permitted on public roads may vary between countries, vehicle types and applications. Always check the regulations applicable to the specific installation.
SKYN1 EXP - Wireless Bluetooth Control
One of the biggest advantages of Skylord EXP is its integrated SKYN1 EXP Bluetooth communication. The light bar communicates wirelessly with the SKYN1 EXP Wireless Controller inside the vehicle.
Once connected to power and paired, the system automatically identifies the product as a warning light and assigns it to the correct button on the controller.
This means the system automatically understands which type of EXP product has been connected without requiring the user to reprogramme the button functions.
The SKYN1 EXP Wireless Controller, part number 907851S1, is required for the light bar to operate and is sold separately. The lighting functions cannot be activated or function-tested until the bar has been paired with the controller.
Easy Control Directly from the Driver's Position
Once the bar is paired, the key functions are controlled using simple commands on the SKYN1 EXP controller:
- Single press - switches the warning light bar on or off
- Double press - changes to the next warning pattern
- Triple press - activates steady light
- Hold for 3-5 seconds - switches between day and night modes
- Hold for more than 5 seconds - resets the bar to the first warning pattern and day mode
This provides the driver with fast and intuitive control over the key functions without requiring a mobile phone or separate programming device during work.
Memory Function for the Last Used Warning Mode
SKYN1 EXP features a built-in memory function that automatically remembers the most recently active warning mode.
On a work vehicle where the same warning pattern is used regularly, there is therefore no need to cycle through every pattern each time the bar is used.
1800 mm for Large and Wide Work Vehicles
With an overall length of 1800 mm, this version is developed for vehicles where an exceptionally wide warning light bar provides the best functional and visual solution.
The large illuminated area is particularly well suited to:
- Trucks
- Large service vehicles
- Recovery vehicles
- Roadside assistance vehicles
- Road maintenance vehicles
- Larger transport vehicles
- Construction vehicles
- Special-purpose work vehicles
The increased width distributes the warning light across a large part of the vehicle roof, creating a clear and professional installation on larger vehicles.
Amber LED Segments Provide High Visibility
Skylord EXP uses powerful amber LED segments to create a clear warning signal around the vehicle.
On the 1800 mm version, a large illuminated area is combined with advanced sequential and alternating patterns. This makes the bar particularly useful where the vehicle needs to be noticed quickly by other road users or people within the working area.
Typical applications include:
- Work on or beside roads
- Recovery and roadside assistance
- Road maintenance
- Service work
- Loading and unloading
- Construction work
- Work involving heavy vehicles and machinery
Extremely Low Profile - Approximately 34.2 mm
Despite its impressive length, the light bar body is only approximately 34.2 mm high.
The low profile provides a significantly more modern and integrated appearance than conventional tall warning light bars. It is particularly attractive on modern trucks, vans and service vehicles where professional warning lighting needs to be combined with a discreet and carefully designed installation.
The technical drawing shows the light bar body at approximately 123 mm deep. The mounting area including the brackets extends to approximately 150 mm, while total height including the mounting bracket is approximately 71.8 mm.
Dark Lens for a Discreet Appearance When Switched Off
Skylord EXP features a dark polycarbonate lens. When the warning light bar is switched off, it therefore has a discreet, dark and modern appearance.
When activated, the powerful amber LED segments become clearly visible through the dark lens and provide the warning performance required for professional applications.
The combination of low profile, dark lens and aluminium construction allows the bar to integrate well even on modern vehicles where design is important.
262 W Power Consumption
The 1800 mm version has a power consumption of 262 W. The higher consumption compared with the shorter models is natural because the longer bar contains more light segments and provides a larger illuminated warning area.
Power supply, cable sizing and fusing should always be adapted to the installation load, the vehicle electrical system and Strands' installation instructions.
10-32 V - for Both 12 V and 24 V Vehicles
Strands Skylord EXP Warning Light Bar 1800 mm operates on 10-32 V DC and is therefore compatible with both 12 V and 24 V systems.
The wide voltage range is particularly valuable for professional applications where the product can be used on everything from vans and service vehicles to trucks and larger work machinery.
2.5 Metre Connection Cable and Fuse Included
The light bar power supply is connected through a 2500 mm cable with separate positive and negative conductors. A fuse is included.
The generous cable length provides flexibility when installing the bar on larger vehicles and makes it easier to find a suitable route from the roof installation to the vehicle power supply.
Bluetooth Reduces the Amount of Control Wiring
A conventional multifunction warning light bar may require several separate control wires from the roof to the control panel inside the cabin.
Skylord EXP instead uses Bluetooth for control communication. The bar still requires a correctly sized power supply, but commands for:
- On and off
- Warning pattern selection
- Steady light
- Day and night modes
are transmitted wirelessly between the bar and the SKYN1 EXP controller.
This reduces the need for separate signal wiring through the roof, A-pillars and cabin and can make the installation both cleaner and easier.
Part of a Complete SKYN1 EXP Lighting System
Skylord EXP Warning Light Bar is part of the wider SKYN1 EXP ecosystem and can be combined with other compatible Skylord EXP products.
The system automatically identifies different categories of lighting:
- Driving lights and LED light bars
- Position lights
- Work lights
- Warning lights
This makes it possible to combine the 1800 mm warning light bar on the roof with Skylord EXP work lights and driving lights and control every function from the same SKYN1 EXP controller.
Two Groups for Advanced Installations
SKYN1 EXP Wireless Controller features two separate groups. Compatible lights can therefore be divided according to factors such as position, side or application.
This is particularly useful on larger service vehicles, recovery vehicles and trucks where several different types of work and warning lighting may be installed around the complete vehicle.
Support for Up to 32 Compatible Lights
One SKYN1 EXP system can manage up to 32 compatible lights across the controller's two groups.
This means the 1800 mm bar can become a central part of a significantly larger lighting system on advanced service vehicles and specialist work vehicles.
IP67 for Permanent External Installation
Skylord EXP Warning Light Bar is developed for external vehicle installation and features an IP67 rating.
This provides a high level of protection against both dust and water, which is important for a roof-mounted product continuously exposed to rain, snow, dirt and changing weather conditions.
Electrical connections and cable entries should still be completed using suitable waterproof solutions according to the installation instructions.
Rugged Construction with Aluminium Base
The light bar combines a rugged aluminium base with an upper plastic construction and a durable polycarbonate lens.
The aluminium base provides a stable foundation for the long 1800 mm construction, while the polycarbonate lens is well suited to a product permanently exposed to weather, vibration and professional use.
Designed for -35 °C to +65 °C
Skylord EXP has a specified operating temperature range of -35 °C to +65 °C.
This makes the bar well suited to year-round professional vehicle use, from cold Nordic winter conditions to hot summer days.
R10.07, CE-RED and Bluetooth SIG
In addition to ECE R65 Class 2, Skylord EXP is approved according to ECE R10.07 for electromagnetic compatibility.
The integrated wireless communication is also covered by CE-RED and Bluetooth SIG.
This is particularly relevant on modern vehicles where aftermarket warning lighting must be able to operate alongside the vehicle's other electronic systems.
Mounting Brackets, Installation Hardware and Fuse Included
Skylord EXP is supplied with the basic components required to install the light bar. The package includes:
- 2 mounting brackets
- 4 M8 screws
- 4 M8 spacers
- M8 spring washers and nuts
- 8 M6 screws
- M6 spring washers and nuts
- 4 EVA protective pads
- 1 fuse
Installation should always be adapted to the vehicle construction and the laws and regulations applicable to warning lighting and its mounting position.
Service-Friendly Construction with Replaceable Light Modules
Skylord EXP is designed with a modular and service-friendly construction. If an individual light module needs to be replaced, the upper section of the bar can be opened and the relevant module replaced without automatically replacing the complete warning light bar.
This is an important advantage on professional vehicles where equipment may be used for many hours every day and where good serviceability can reduce both downtime and costs.
All disassembly and servicing should be carried out according to Strands' instructions to ensure that seals and other protective components are not damaged.
SKYN1 EXP Controller Is Mandatory - Test Before Final Installation
Skylord EXP is developed specifically for the SKYN1 EXP system and therefore cannot be tested like a conventional warning light bar simply by connecting positive and negative power.
All lighting functions remain locked until the light bar has been paired with the SKYN1 EXP Wireless Controller 907851S1.
Strands therefore recommends connecting the bar to power, pairing it and function-testing it together with the controller before final installation.
This allows the power supply, Bluetooth communication and all warning functions to be verified before the bar is permanently mounted on the vehicle.
